Adam Chamberlain is returning to Mercedes-Benz USA as CEO starting July 1 after leaving the company in 2021, the automaker announced on April 15.

Chamberlain will also take on the role of Head of Marketing and Sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars North America. He will replace Dimitris Psillakis, who has held the role since December 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile. Psillakis, a company veteran with over 30 years of experience, will transition into a senior strategic advisor role until the end of 2025.

“This leadership change reflects Mercedes-Benz’s continued commitment to innovation, high-level customer service, and long-term growth in the U.S. market,” the company said in a statement. The U.S. is the German automaker’s second-largest market.

Chamberlain’s appointment comes amid a series of leadership changes at Mercedes-Benz, including the creation of new roles in the company’s North American divisions and updates to the board of directors.

Matthias Geisen, a member of the board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG responsible for marketing and sales, stated that Chamberlain “brings a unique combination of strategic and operational expertise in both manufacturing and retail.” He said Chamberlain “will play a key role in the company’s transformation and lay the foundation for long-term success.”

Before returning, Chamberlain served as Vice President of Sales at Mercedes-Benz USA, a position he left in April 2021 before becoming President and CEO of Aston Martin for the Americas in November of that year, according to LinkedIn. As VP of Sales, he was responsible for retail and product strategy for Mercedes-Benz in the U.S. market.

According to an official statement, Dimitris Psillakis has been with Mercedes-Benz since 1992, holding executive roles in Europe, South America, Asia, the U.S., and Canada.
